3rd Circular


Dear colleagues,


Thank you all for your enthusiastic response to the 16th IWGP call for papers. We have received more than 270 participations from 5 continents and 36 countries!! Due to the large number of oral presentations submitted and the time limitation of 5 days, the conference scientific committee, aided in cases by external reviewers, has had to convert several oral presentations into posters. The review process is nearing completion and participants are being informed on a session by session basis. Registration will start on Sunday the 16th of June, at the venue (16.00-20.00) and will continue early on Monday morning (8.00-9.00).


The VENUE will be KEDEA as announced already in the conference webpage. There is a map indicating the venue location on the webpage.  Amphitheatres II and III have been booked. The two amphitheatres are adjacent to each other and each presentation will be projected simultaneously in both rooms with the possibility to ask questions to the speakers from both rooms. Amphitheatre III opens to a large foyer, in close proximity to Amphitheatre II. Posters will be displayed in this foyer, running parallel to the sessions they belong to. ORAL PRESENTATIONS: Oral presentations will last 15 minutes and 5 minutes will be dedicated to discussion.


POSTER GUIDELINES: Posters should not exceed 1.20 metres length and 0.80 metres width.

It is also VERY IMPORTANT that you send me by fax (2310997775) the documentation that verifies payment of the registration fee.

On arrival you will receive an official receipt, issued by our Research Committee, that you have paid the conference fee etc (e.g. dinner, excursion) (deposited in the bank account provided above). The receipt will normally have your name on it. IF you need a receipt that will have to indicate otherwise, YOU NEED TO tick in the box in the online form AND send to the conference e-mail address (iwgp-13@hist.auth.gr) the details that need to appear on the receipt by email.


EXCURSION: Please note that there is an option for a short and a long version a) Vergina and b) Pella-Mieza-Vergina, especially planned for those who have a flight on Saturday the 22nd of June. Those of you who wish to be back to Thessaloniki or Thessaloniki airport at 16.00 will need to tick the relevant box.


FURTHER INFORMATION: More information on guidelines as regards getting to the venue, moving around Thessaloniki and shopping will be available in mid May.
